We had lots of groovy kids dressed up for Hippie Day. Thanks for your help in making this a fun day at Northview!
We have been working hard on our All About Books. We noticed that our class has so many experts on different topics...cats, riding bikes, fishing, etc. We decided we should all write books about our topics so we can share our knowledge with each other and our 3rd grade buddies. Each kindergartner has been busy researching and writing chapters for his/her All About Book. We finished the books and brought them to Ms. Elsen's class. The 3rd graders were so impressed with our tables of contents, chapters, and glossaries! We hope you were, too!
We were lucky enough to have a special guest visit Northview and teach us about taking care of the earth! Lilly's mom, Jen Dullum, is a Natural Resource Specialist for the city of Farmington. She came to our classroom and did an awesome experiment on the importance of keeping our lakes, rivers, and oceans clean. We also made a fun art project, which included making a promise to take care of earth. Our class decided on a short, simple message to write during Community Writing for a sign to accompany our art in the hallway. I love their choice of bold font for important words. Check it out below!
Thank you for visiting our classroom, Mrs. Dullum! We loved having you here! Thank you to all the families that made it to our Family Fun Night! It was a great evening of working together to help others! During the school day on Friday, we made birthday cards for children who are in the hospital on their birthdays. Our third grade buddies helped us make the cards so everyone in our whole class was able to "do good".
