We had our first Managed Independent Learning time today! This independent work time is when I will eventually be pulling kids in small groups to work on reading skills. The students are working at a variety of stations around the classroom. Each student is in charge of managing his/her own learning and sharing what he/she did at the end of our workshop. Some of the stations activities include building play doh letters, drawing fall pictures, practicing letters/words on white boards, putting together name puzzles, and building our fine motor skills by using beads and tweezers. These activities will change throughout the year. They did amazing for their first day!
